Macclesfield Town FC mosaic art
Here at World of Mosaics, we are always keen to get involved in local charities and community initiatives. We were recently asked by local mosaic artist Debra Tracy, of The Creative Space Studio, to donate glass and ceramic mosaic tiles for her latest project. She was commissioned by Macclesfield Town FC to produce a mosaic commemorating the history of the football club.
Debra gets local school children, youth groups and other community centres involved in her mosaic making projects. Here are just a few of the community groups who got stuck in!

“As the Creative Project Manager for the Macclesfield Town Football Club Community Mosaic, part of my commitment to Peaks & Plains and the club was to identify quality providers in the area who wanted to contribute to the project. I was very fortunate to come across World of Mosaics as they felt, as I did, that it is essential to support local community activities. Not only did they agree to donate nearly 4300 2cm vitreous glass tiles, they was happy to help with advice and support on demand. World of Mosaics delivered their donated tiles very quickly and I would say that without them, the project may not have got off the ground. As the artist working with the groups, I was able to use World of Mosaics’ quality tiles in an array of colours to represent the history of the footballs club – from 1873 to today! I am very grateful to World of Mosaics and thank them for their continued support.”

The Creative Space Studio
When we heard about Debra’s plans for her MTFC mosaic project we knew that this would be a fantastic addition to her portfolio, the football club and for the communities involved. Our decision to donate the mosaic tiles was an easy one to make. By the end of the project, we had donated approximately 60,000 tiles which were used in the finished mosaic.
The mosaic motifs are truly a work of art and the finished project is a huge achievement and a credit to Debra and to the football club. We would like to offer our congratulations to Debra, her team of mosaic artists and the groups involved in bringing this fabulous collaboration together.
Jewel Gomeda adds another dimension to real mosaic art
Cubist Cat - Mosaic Art by Dennis Bunn
Here at the World of Mosaics blog we love to see the visions and dreams of our customers come to life. I’m very happy to share the latest fruits of Dennis Bunn’s creative labours. It’s called Cubist Cat and just goes to show that we’re not just about bathroom tiles and kitchen tiles! :-)
We think the gold flecks in the Jewel Gomeda mosaic tile perfectly complement the warm tones in the natural mahogany. I think Dennis has captured the spirit of the cat in his wonderful mosaic art design… it looks so proud, elegant and reminds me of a Siamese cat… Wonderful!
Here’s what Dennis had to say:
Unlike most of your customers I wanted my tiles for my hobby. This time I am trying to blend wood and mosaics. I have cut out a cubist cat from a pale type mahogany wood. It is a striking 22 inches tall and I decided it needed black and gold tiles and when I found the jewel gomeda there it was in one tile. Thank you for your super service and quick delivery.
